Holmes Jackson

Hi! I am Brittney Holmes Jackson, a self-identified multi-passionate creative, and I have a passion for helping other creative minds identify their gifts and passions, in order to pursue their divine calling and impact the world around them. An author, educator and mentor, I use my experience to guide others toward success in business and in life as a creative consultant and coach.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read, but for years I had my heart set on becoming a medical doctor. At the age of 14, my longtime appreciation for reading expanded to a love for writing and creating fictional stories of my own. At 16, I became a published author and discovered that while I remained fascinated with the field of medicine, I did not feel about it the way I did writing.

I am a 2012 alumna of the University of Georgia, where I earned dual degrees during my 4-year tenure: a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism (a degree for which I was also named "Grady Ambassador" from UGA's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication). Selected by Teach for America to help mold and educate young minds, I taught elementary education in the school systems of Jacksonville, FL for three years before shifting back to Atlanta where I continue to serve as an educator and mentor.

In pursuit of my passion, I made a future career change and decided that as I obtained a higher education, I would focus on subjects that would expand my command of the English language and sharpen my skills as a creative writer. I am now the author of four bestselling novels and the recipient of several literary honors including Essence Bestselling Author, Black Expressions Bestselling Author, the 2007 Yale Book Award, the 2007 AALAS Best Young Adult Fiction Award, induction into the National Association of Black Journalists, and induction into Who's Who In Black Atlanta.

I am the founder of R.A.D.I.A.N.C.E., LLC., a nonprofit mentoring group for young ladies, ages 10-18 years, and The Purpose & Profit Community, a network for female aspiring and published authors who are looking to network and learn how to package their book's message beyond publication. I am a devastating diva of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and a member of the national writer's fellowship, M-PACT Writers. I am the oldest child of Michael Holmes and national bestselling author, Kendra Norman (Holmes). In 2015, I married Dr. Christopher Jackson, and we reside in metropolitan Atlanta, GA with our fur baby, Charlie Brown.

R.A.D.I.A.N.C.E., Inc.

R.A.D.I.A.N.C.E. is a tailor made mentorship for young women, ages 10-18 who are at the age where they are discovering themselves and beginning to make decisions based off of who they believe they are and what they feel they desire in life. In an effort to support these young women as they matriculate through adolescence and young adulthood, R.A.D.I.A.N.C.E. strives to develop and empower them with tangible resources and relentless confidence to pursue their passions and bring their ideas to fruition, through the development of their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. R.A.D.I.A.N.C.E. girls are daring enough to start now, not waiting for time’s permission to be the world’s inspiration.
